How Does Laser Cutting Work?
In laser cutting, material is cut by selective heating using an intense laser beam. The laser beam produces a temperature rise above the sublimation temperature of the material at the point of intersection. The evaporated material is directly expelled as fumes without transferring the temperature increase to surrounding materials. As a result, laser cutting produces very clean cut edges: wood cuts without any nasty debris, leather and textiles don't fray, and acrylic cuts have crystal-clear edges. However, with some materials, escaping gases can cause darkening of the cut edges, such as laser woodcuts.
Advantages Of Laser Cutting
Compared to machining of different materials, laser cutting has many advantages: The cutting results are always accurate and no separate rework is required. Thanks to the non-contact laser process, the raw material does not slip and there are no unsightly bruises. Due to the narrow cutting edges, the cuts can be placed very close together. No material is wasted and the available space and materials are used optimally.
Even for small batches or single pieces, HTPOW can provide you with a laser engraver at a reasonable price. We can also ship your engraved products anywhere in the world within a few days.
